Hanging a bright, colorful, gigantic tapestry is a fun and easy way to fill space and completely transform the look of a room. However, if you’re spending the year in a college dorm room or renting an apartment where you aren’t allowed to use thumbtacks or nails to hang things onto the walls, hanging a tapestry (or practically any other decor) becomes really difficult. Luckily, my roommate (SimplyKanina) came up with thisbrilliant idea for damage-free decorating using adhesive strips and clothespins. This method can be used to hang nearly anything on a wall or ceiling without any damage to either the wall/ceiling or the tapestry/poster/pennant/picture!
You’ll need adhesive strips, clothespins, and an item to hang. Clothespins come in a wide variety of sizes, colors, and designs and basically any type can be used based on the look you’re going for. Since I used mini clothespins to hang my tapestry (specifically these from Typo), I decided to cut my adhesive strips in half so that they wouldn’t show from behind the small pin. Simply attach the strip to the back of the clothespin and then attach the pin to the wall. It’s that easy!
